I am Deeti Shah, a first year environmental science and policy major at UCI. I have joined the Earth System Science Club, California Public Interest Research Group, and Fridays for Future OC to help implement green initiatives at UCI and Irvine. 

 

This website serves as my digital portfolio and blog for my WR 45: Intensive Writing / Critical Reading and Rhetoric. Through this course, we will explore memoirs and how it explains the rhetor's identity and family; this website explores identity though various projects posted on this website, each with separate learning goals. Our Genre Analysis essay will solidify our understanding of genre conventions and genre’s purpose, and strengthen academic essay conventions like using evidence to support your argument and citing sources. Through our Multimodal Memoir, we will learn when to appropriately use different modes of text, and through other projects, we will practice more concepts. Ultimately, we should be able to use critical thinking and metacognitive reading strategies; learn about genre and different modes; write an essay with a viable claim; and apply genre concepts in the real world.
